Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, and then catch a flight to Lhasa, landing at Lhasa Gonggar Airport.

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa

  • Arrive in Lhasa, Tibet’s capital, and transfer to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the high altitude.
  • In the evening, take a leisurely walk around Barkhor Street, a lively market where you can shop for unique Tibetan handicrafts.
  • Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Day 2: Explore Lhasa

  • Visit the iconic Potala Palace, the former winter home of the Dalai Lama and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Head to Jokhang Temple, one of Tibet’s holiest and most revered sites.
  • Walk around the Barkhor Circuit, a pilgrimage route that circles the Jokhang Temple.
  • Visit Sera Monastery to see its fascinating debates between monks.
  • Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 3: Lhasa to Namtso Lake

  • Drive to Namtso Lake, located around 250 kilometers from Lhasa (approximately a 6-hour drive).
  • Take in the stunning views of this sacred, turquoise lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
  • You’ll have time to take a peaceful walk along the lake or simply soak in the natural beauty of the area.
  • Stay overnight at a guesthouse near Namtso Lake.

Day 4: Namtso Lake to Shigatse

  • Drive to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city (about a 6-7 hour drive).
  • Visit the impressive Tashilhunpo Monastery, home to the Panchen Lama.
  • Explore the local Shigatse Market, where you can find traditional Tibetan goods and souvenirs.
  • Overnight in Shigatse.

Day 5: Shigatse to Lhasa

  • Drive back to Lhasa (about 6 hours).
  • On the way, stop at Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three largest sacred lakes, known for its stunning turquoise waters.
  • Continue the journey to Lhasa and check into your hotel.
  • Overnight in Lhasa

Day 6: Departure from Lhasa

  • Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to explore or do some last-minute shopping.
  • Transfer to Lhasa Gonggar Airport for your departure.

Cancellation Policy

  • Once the Group-Naming list has been submitted for the permit, any cancellations will incur a penalty for each individual. Please note that the permit application is processed 60 days prior to the scheduled travel date.
  • If the Yatri cancels the tour 45 Days before the date of departure, 75% of total payment will be refunded.
  • If the Yatri cancels the tour 30 Days before the date of departure, 50% of total payment will be refunded.
  • If the Yatri cancels the tour 15 Days before the date of departure, NO payment will be refunded.

Emergency Departure and Associated Costs

In the event of an unforeseen emergency requiring a Yatri to depart the Yatra prematurely and seek to return, the Yatri will be fully responsible for any additional costs incurred due to this early departure. These expenses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Permit and visa cancellations
  • Transportation costs (e.g., return travel)
  • Meals and lodging
  • Medical care
  • Emergency rescue services
  • Any supplementary nights spent on the Nepal side of the journey
  • The Yatri will bear the full financial responsibility for these costs.
