upon arrival in lucknow, you will be greeted at the airport or train station and transferred to nepalgunj. The drive will take approximately 5 hours to cover the 180 km distance. Overnight stay in nepalgunj.
Distance: Lucknow to nepalgunj – 180 km (5 hours)
Early morning, at 5:00 a.m., we will transfer you to nepalgunj airport for your flight to simikot. The flight lasts about an hour, passing over nepal’s remote mountainous regions, which are often cloudy and unpredictable. It is recommended to fly early in the morning when weather conditions are calmer. Simikot, situated at 2910 m, offers an ideal stop for acclimatization. Simikot has a stol (short take-off and landing) airport, which can only accommodate small aircraft carrying up to 15 people.
We will stay overnight in simikot for acclimatization before proceeding to the next part of the journey.
Afterward, we will board a helicopter for the 25-minute flight to hilsa. The helicopter ride passes through deep gorges and narrow valleys. We use eurocopters (b3), each carrying 5 passengers with a baggage limit of 10 kg per person.
Once the group has arrived in hilsa, we will cross the border and drive to taklakot. Per chinese visa regulations, the group must enter and exit together, so we will not proceed until all members are present.
The drive from hilsa to taklakot takes around 45 minutes.
