Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Two weeks before departure, we will arrange your yatra permit. We will collect your passports and permits to process your visa through VFS China in Kathmandu, which typically takes three business days. Please bring six passport-sized photos (35 x 45 mm, white background) for the visa application.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Kathmandu, visiting key landmarks such as Pashupatinath Temple (the holiest Hindu temple), Mata Guheswori Temple, and Budhanilkantha Temple, famous for its reclining Vishnu.

Day 3: Kathmandu Temple Tour

Following breakfast, continue exploring Kathmandu with visits to Doleswar Mahadev Temple, Bhaktapur, Patan, and Changunarayan Temple.

Day 4: Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa

After breakfast, head to the international airport for your flight to Lhasa, which takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Upon arrival, our Chinese guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.

Day 5: Lhasa Sightseeing

Spend the day visiting Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Square, and Norbulingka Palace. In the evening, enjoy free time to explore the city at your leisure.

Day 6: Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse (via Northern Highway)

In the morning, drive to Shigatse along the Yarlung Tsangpo River. The journey takes about 5 hours and covers 270 km, with speed limits for safety. In the evening, explore Shigatse at your leisure.

Day 7: Drive from Shigatse to Saga

Today’s scenic drive takes you through picturesque villages and valleys, crossing at least four high passes before reaching Saga, a small town by the Brahmaputra River. The journey takes approximately 6 hours, with a picnic lunch along the way.

Day 8: Drive from Saga to Lake Manasarovar

Set off early for the long journey to Lake Manasarovar, a sacred site in Hindu mythology. We expect to arrive around 2 PM, where you can take a holy dip and pray. In the evening, drive to Chiugompa, making a clockwise circumambulation of the lake.

Day 9: Lake Manasarovar to Darchen

Overnight stay at Darchen.

Day 10: Drive from Lake Manasarovar to Yama Dwar - Start Parikrama to Dhirapuk

After breakfast, drive to Yama Dwar (about 45 minutes), where the parikrama begins. The trek to Dhirapuk, located 10 km from Yama Dwar, takes about 5 to 6 hours on a gentle trail. Overnight stay in basic guest accommodations.

Day 11: Trek to Shivastahl, Gaurikunda (5,620 m), then Zutulphuk

This challenging day involves a 22 km trek to Zutulphuk, beginning at 5 AM. The trail ascends initially but becomes easier after two hours. Ensure you carry essentials like water, medicine, and snacks. We will reach Dolma La Pass (5,800 m), the highest point of the trek, before descending to Gaurikunda and continuing to Zutulphuk. Overnight in basic accommodations.

Day 12: End Trek at Zhongdau, then Drive to Darchen

After breakfast, trek to the endpoint near Darchen (Zhongdau), which takes about 3 hours. After regrouping, drive to Darchen for a relaxing evening.

Zhongdau to Darchen: 4 km | 20 mins

Day 13: Drive Back to Saga

After breakfast, drive back to Shigatse, retracing our route via Mayum La, Paryang, and Old Dongba. Arrival in the evening.
Darchen to Saga: 460 km | 7 hrs

Day 14: Drive from Shigatse to Lhasa

Travel back to Lhasa via the northern highway, taking about 5 hours. Enjoy free time in the evening for shopping or exploring.
Shigatse to Lhasa: 270 km | 5 hrs

Day 15: Fly from Lhasa to Kathmandu

In the early morning, you’ll be escorted to Gonggar Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, our staff will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy free time for shopping or other activities.

Day 16: Departure from Kathmandu

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your return flight. Please arrive at the check-in counter three hours prior to departure. Tour ends.

Cancellation Policy

  • After the Group-Naming list has been submitted for the permit, any cancellations will incur a fee of USD 500 per person. (The permit application is made 60 days prior to the travel date).
  • If the Yatri cancels the tour 45 Days before the date of departure, 75% of total payment will be refunded.
  • If the Yatri cancels the tour 30 Days before the date of departure, 50% of total payment will be refunded.
  • If the Yatri cancels the tour 15 Days before the date of departure, NO payment will be refunded.

Emergency Departure and Associated Costs

In the event of an unforeseen emergency requiring a Yatri to depart the Yatra prematurely and seek to return, the Yatri will be fully responsible for any additional costs incurred due to this early departure. These expenses may include, but are not limited to:

  • Permit and visa cancellations
  • Transportation costs (e.g., return travel)
  • Meals and lodging
  • Medical care
  • Emergency rescue services
  • Any supplementary nights spent on the Nepal side of the journey
  • The Yatri will bear the full financial responsibility for these costs.
